Internal Order Settings

One question: when an internal order closes by itself.

Where to find it: Modules → Stock → Settings → Internal Order Settings

Closing of internal orders

  • "Close internal orders manually" — only a person closes an order, with the "Closed" checkbox.
  • "Close by the first stock movement" — the order closes as soon as its first stock movement appears, even a draft or a partial one. If that draft is deleted later, the order still stays closed. The rest is ordered with a duplicate of the order — its "Qty" is the same as in the original, so reduce it to the remainder.
  • "Close when all items are moved" — the order closes when at least the ordered quantity has been posted in every row.

There is one such setting per company. Until a mode is chosen, no radio button is selected — orders then close only by hand, as in the first mode.

Typical situations

You changed the mode, but old orders did not close. Set the mode before you start creating stock movements. It is read on every recount of an order: when a linked movement is saved or deleted, and also when the order itself is saved. Changing the mode does not go through old orders by itself: it takes effect at the next recount of each of them — including the next "Save" of the order itself.

The order closed too early. A closed order does not reopen in any mode — neither by hand nor automatically. If it was closed too early, create a duplicate and reduce its "Qty" to the remainder: the duplicate copies the full quantities of the original.
