Resource Type
A type is a team of interchangeable resources: «workshop», «washers», «bays». The register is tiny — a code and a comment — but it is what lets you avoid tying a service to one particular person.
Where to find it: Modules → CRM → Registers → Resource Type
A worked example

- Code — what is later picked in the «Res type» column of a booking. Mandatory and unique within the company (stored in upper case; a repeat gives "The record already exists!"); cannot be changed once saved ("Can't change code") — resources and bookings find the type by it;
- Comment — the human-readable explanation.
What it is for
A service in a booking is assigned either to a specific technician or to a type. The difference matters:
- a specific resource: the technician is busy — the slot disappears from the website, nobody can stand in;
- a resource type: the slot is offered while at least one member of the team is free, and who exactly gets the job is decided when the booking is placed.
The selection method is set in the same service row: «uniform separation» gives the job to whoever has the fewest tasks on that date, «separation in turn» — to the first free one by code alphabetically. When the row names a type, exactly one method must be chosen: with none selected the booking is not saved («Allocation type cannot be empty if it is a resource type»), with both selected it is not saved either («Only one of the allocation types must be field»).
To put a resource into the team it is enough to set this type in the «Type» field of its record.
Typical situations
A RENTAL type appeared in the register although nobody created it. The rental module did: when a rental agreement is approved, it creates resources for the rental objects and takes their type from «Rental settings», or RENTAL if no type is set there. When that type is missing from the register, the system creates it itself.
The type is no longer needed. It can be deleted only while no resource, booking service row or resource accounting list row is marked with it and «Rental settings» do not name it. Otherwise the system refuses and names where the type is used.
