Viber Config

The setting connects a Viber bot to ERPJS: messages that customers write to the bot and new subscribers land in the Viber Subscribers register, and you can reply from there.

Where to find it: Modules → System → Settings → Viber Config

Fields

  • Token — the bot token that Viber issues when you register the bot. The field is write-only: the saved token is not shown in the window. After saving, the field shows a mask. Leave it as is — the token stays; type a new one — it replaces the old one; clear the field — the token is erased on saving.
  • Bot name — the name the bot's messages are signed with. Required: without it messages are not sent.
  • Avatar url — the address of the bot's picture.
  • Https base url — the address at which your ERPJS opens in a browser, https://…, with no trailing slash. Viber will send messages here, so the address must be reachable from the internet.
  • Enabled — the bot works. Saving with the box ticked registers the address with Viber; clearing it removes the registration.

How to connect a bot

  1. Register a bot with Viber and copy its token.
  2. Fill in all fields, tick Enabled and save.
  3. Write to the bot from your phone. Your card with this message should appear in the Viber Subscribers register.

Typical situations

The bot receives no messages after it was first enabled or after the token was changed. Save the setting once more without changing anything. On the first save Viber checks the address before the new values are written, and the registration fails; on the second save it succeeds. The window does not report Viber's refusal, so there is one check: write to the bot and see whether the message appears.

"Message not sent: the bot is not configured". Enabled is not ticked, or one of the Token, Bot name, Https base url fields is empty.

A subscriber unsubscribed, but the card stayed. This is by design: the system receives Viber's delivery, read and unsubscribe notifications but does not store them. It does not delete the card with the conversation.
