Recalculate Fixed Assets Statuses
A housekeeping operation that reassembles fixed asset quantities in the status register: how much of each asset is left in its department and in total.
Where to find it: Modules → Database Maintenance → Maintenances → Recalculate Fixed Assets Statuses
A worked example

No parameters: the service walks the current company's assets and rebuilds the status register.
When it is needed
An asset's status is derived from the asset card itself and from disposal acts: the card was created, its Department or quantity changed, a disposal act approved. There is no separate document for moving an asset between departments — the department is changed on the card, and saving the card moves the status row by itself. In normal operation the register keeps itself current.
A recalculation helps when asset data was migrated from another system or edited outside the card window: for each card it rebuilds the status rows — for the card's current Department and the overall total (a card without a Department gets the total only) — as the card quantity minus what approved write-off acts wrote off. Rows of other departments (say, the old one, if the Department was changed outside the card) are not removed — delete them in the statuses by hand. The recalculation does not change the card's "Closed" flag either, even when the quantity has become zero or above zero again — only quantity movements in the card itself and in disposal acts set and clear it (or a manual change in the card).
Typical situations
The owner column is empty in the depreciation sheet. Statuses have nothing to do with it: the sheet takes the owner from the department name on the asset card. Pick the Department on the card again — the name fills in from the directory — and save; recalculating statuses does not change this column.
An asset moved department but the report shows the old one. Check the Department on the card itself first: saving the card with the new department moves the status row. Recalculate only when the card was edited outside the window.
A refusal about a register shared from another company. If your company uses the asset cards, the statuses or the disposal acts shared from another company, the service refuses and names the register: statuses are recalculated only by the company that owns the register.
