Nominal Ledger Report
An account's postings for the period in sequence, with the running balance after each: opening balance → operation by operation → closing balance. More compact than the general ledger with correspondence: there every row is expanded to the pair of accounts, here it is a single account's movement tape. For "scrolling a month of the cash account with your eyes" — this is the one.
Where to find it: Modules → Nominal Ledger → Reports → Nominal Ledger Report
Worked example
Account 361 "Trade receivables" for July 2026:

- Opening balance — 1,160.98: what customers owed on July 1.
- Then shipments grow the receivable and payments settle it — every row shifts the running balance.
- Closing balance — 2,995.72.
The figures match the trial balance and the Analytical Balance — one source.
Where the data comes from
The rows are the account's postings (Transactions) for the period; the opening balance is computed via the fast-balance store (monthly posting aggregates — the same ones behind the Analytical Balance) plus Forward Balances; with the Currency filter or the Display currency box ticked it is the sum of the postings themselves before the period start. Drafts with no postings never show up. After manual DB edits made bypassing the system, or after changing the default rule in Rounding, rebuild the store with the Rebuild Object Values maintenance — otherwise the balance for the same day depends on the report's start date.
Parameters
| Parameter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accounts | One account, a comma-separated list or a range «300:399»; empty — all |
| Period | Which period's postings to show |
| Objects | Only postings that carry all the listed objects |
| Currency | Only postings in this currency — and then every amount in the report (balances, debit, credit) is in that currency, not the base one |
| Display empty accounts | Also show accounts with neither a balance nor movement in the period. An account with a balance but no movement shows even without the box |
| Display currency | Add the postings' currency amounts |
| With Corrections | Show the posting next to its previous state if it was edited (from the corrections history) |
Common situations
A report over several accounts shows only headers. That is by design: with more than one account each is collapsed into a line «account, name, balance». Click the line to expand the account's postings, click again to collapse.
You need to see which account the operation went against. That is the general ledger with correspondence — here the correspondent is not printed, the report is deliberately compact.
The opening balance looks wrong. Cross-check the Analytical Balance at the same date; a discrepancy beyond kopecks means the store needs a rebuild (see above).
Too many rows. Narrow the period and set one account — the general ledger is read per account, not all at once.
