Non-Monetary Accounts

The list of accounts that are not revalued by rate when closing the books. Revaluation recomputes the currency balances of monetary items (cash, receivables/payables) at the closing-date rate; but fixed assets, inventory or capital once bought for currency do not get dearer when the rate moves — such accounts are listed here, and revaluation walks around them.

Walkthrough

Non-monetary accounts

The demo excludes the typical non-monetary items: 103 and 105 (fixed assets), 152 (capital investments), 281 (goods in stock), 401 (share capital). A row is an account from the chart of accounts; the "Debit only" / "Credit only" flags exclude just one side of the account when only the debit or only the credit part of the balance must stay unrevalued.

Where the effect comes from

The setting itself posts nothing — it is read by the currency revaluation at book closing: monetary currency balances are recomputed at the closing-date rate (the difference goes to the FX difference account sets), while accounts from this list keep their historical valuation.

Common situations

Revaluation "touched" stock or fixed assets. The account is missing from this list — add a row and the next closing will skip it.

An account must be revalued on one side only. Set "Debit only" or "Credit only" in its row — only that side is excluded. The two do not combine: with both ticked, "Debit only" applies.

Does this setting change anything in day-to-day documents? No: it acts only at the moment of currency revaluation during book closing.
